Be Your Best Tuition

Passionate about education and making sure every child reaches their full potential.

Every child is unique, all children are different and learn differently. One size does not fit all and education is no different, at Be Your Best tuition the work is tailored to the individual child whilst nurturing and encouraging to make sure each child reaches their full potential and be their best.

The subjects are taught in depth so the children have the knowledge for now and their future school career. This enables them to be well equipped to tackle exams, whatever is thrown at them and also to be reflected in their general school performance.

With the right teaching every child can grow from being a caterpillar into a knowledgeable butterfly.

11+ Tuition

Non Verbal Reasoning

11+ tuition covers all aspects of the 11+ assessment exam.

At Be Your Best children attend weekly 1 hour sessions in Year 5.

This can be in a group (2 to 4 children) or if you feel your child needs a little more support 1:1 is always available.

Sometimes children can need a little more time to prepare, if you feel this is the case with your child, then an option of starting in Year 4 is available.

I have taught science since 2004 from Key Stage 2 to A-Level in the state and private sector. Since stepping back from full time teaching, I have tutored numerous pupils in all Key Stage 3 science subjects and GCSE Chemistry.

I am an expert examiner for GCSE Chemistry for one of the examining boards and fully up-to-date with the current science curriculum requirements.

I strongly believe every child is capable of being the best and it is a question of unlocking their potential. As a mother of a neurodivergent child I truly understand that every child has a different learning style and different needs but once you have unlocked that, shown them they can achieve and are able, then they can fly.

I am a qualified teacher and gained my Post Graduate Certificate in Education from St. Mary's University, Twickenham in 2004.

Currently I teach at a local prep school. Previously I taught science full-time in a secondary school, The London Oratory and in an independent preparatory school, Thomas's in London.

“I can’t recommend Annika highly enough! My son had started tuition for the 11+ with a very reputable company but quite soon I knew it wasn’t going to work out for him.

My son is dyslexic and will sometimes get lost in a large group so needed a tutor who could personalise the lessons for him. Annika took him on and straight after the first lesson, he was very happy and looking forward to going back the following week! Annika completely tailored the lessons for his needs and made them very interactive, engaging and most of all, fun! And high praise indeed, when my son told me how much he missed the lessons after they had completed the 11+.

I would recommend Annika for her professionalism, enthusiasm and her exceptional expertise.

I have since used Annika for a couple of ad hoc tuition lessons and would have no hesitation in using Annika again when my son moves on to his next school.”

My son is in Year 9 at grammar school and, after two years beset by lockdown learning, didn't perform well in his Chemistry test at the end of Year 8.  Annika has been tutoring him weekly since September 2021 and his understanding and engagement in the subject has transformed.  Importantly, so have his test results.

I can't recommend Annika highly enough as a fantastic teacher who engages well with her student and makes them feel like they can achieve anything they set out to, with the right positive mindset and support.

Annika is truly gifted at what she does; showing passion and dedication beyond expectation.

My son, who has a few learning difficulties, is taught in a very ‘warm’ and encouraging way, geared towards his specific areas of weakness. In areas of need for greater support, my son has been shown clear strategies and been given many useful ‘tips’ to aid his learning.
Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Annika.

Annika has been a wonderful tutor to my son in preparation for his 11 plus test and I can't recommend her enough. She has guided him through his work and revision with great patience, knowledge and support and has helped him become more focused and confident as a result. He has always looked forward to his sessions with her and she provided helpful and constructive feedback after each session.

We feel lucky to have found her as a tutor!

Under Annika's tutoring, my son in Y9 has been transformed from an anxious chemistry and physics student, to loving these subjects and achieving top marks. He is now comfortably in the top 10% of his year at a competitive grammar school.

Annika really brings out the best in her students.
